Location

The Parish of Clonoulty/Rossmore is located in the heart of the Golden Vale.It is approximately 7 miles from Thurles Town and approx. 6 miles from the town of Cashel.The nearest city to the parish is Limerick which is approximately a 50 min drive.

Clonoulty (Cluan Ultaigh - The Ulsterman's meadow) gets its name as story goes from, an Ulster man who was driving his cattle from the North of Ireland to the South. He had intended to go to Cork but when the cattle reached Clonoulty the grass was so lush they refused to go any further forcing the Ulsterman to settle in Clonoulty.

Rossmore (Ros Mor - The Big Wood) - Rossmore gets its name as it is populated with a large woodland area.
